Ålesund Shift & Flux Single Launch

— St John The Baptist Church
An intimate and intense night of atmospheric and ethereal music.
price: Headfirst Tickets

After the sell out success of their first gig at the beautiful St John's church in the centre of Bristol, Ålesund thought it a fitting place to officially launch their first single: Shift & Flux. The natural acoustic and beautiful setting make for a very different and special gig.

For anyone who hasn't been, the church is the little hole-in-the-wall just off Broad Street, under the arch on Nelson Street. It's the perfect venue for an intimate and intense night of music. It's also a major part of Bristol’s cultural heritage, with its stunning Gothic city gate and elegant perpendicular spire.

Food and snacks (wine, beer, cider, tea and soft drinks plus some sweet treats) will be served until 23:00.

Tickets £5 in advance £7 OTD.

So far they've spent 2018 festival-ing, gigging, writing and finishing off their EP produced by Jake Bright (Svelte, Doeray, Kate Stapley.) A collection of four beautifully crafted songs with a sparse, yet powerful quality. The immersive sounds of rolling drums, intricate guitar work, and soaring vocals, display Ålesund as an atmospheric force from the trip hop heartland - masters of their own expansive, emotive and exhilarating worlds of sound.

Bristol based singer/songwriter with a unique voice, Agata offers delicate, mellow songs full of soulful melodies and heartbreaking yet powerful lyrics.

Ever since moving to Bristol in 2015 she has been engaging in the local music scene, supporting many touring artists as well as playing her own headline shows across the city and performing at some of Bristol's biggest festivals, including Dot to Dot and Simple Things.

Agata is currently working on a new material which will introduce a refined sound.

Holysseus Fly

Aka Holly Wellington a singer/songwriter/pianist and member of Bristol's Feelgood Experiment who released their debut EP last November supported by 6Music & Clash Magazine. She's also the vocalist with Gilles Peterson praised Ishmael Ensemble.

Holysseus Fly is a culmination of influences from the great, spiritually led Alice Coltrane to nu-jazz legends like Thundercat. This new body of work addresses feelings of freedom and connection.
