About the teachers:
Jan-Ming has been dancing and holding spaces for contact improvisation for over 15 years and is passionate about the exquisitely powerful and completely ordinary practice that it can be to collectively bring us into a dancing conversation together, respecting our differences through curiosity, courage and care. She has a background in performance in dance, music, physical theatre, voicework and is also a practicing somatic bodyworker in The Pantarei Approach. www.janlee.org
Since taking ballet lessons aged 5 Claire has always loved to dance. She studied Dance and Biology at Roehampton Institute and then later trained as an Alexander Technique teacher. During this time she found Contact Improvisation and after dancing mainly contemporary techniques loved finding her own impulse and creativity, exploring presence and relationship within the dance.
Her work and life practice also draws on yoga, body mind centering, functional anatomy, developmental movement, somatic communication and nature.
‘Contact Improvisation is not just about the dance it is about life. What makes us human and how we can expand our conscious intelligence as humans.' www.BristolAT.co.uk
