How to be strategic - an introduction for organisers
Are you in a social justice group asking: “What the *%&$ are we doing” and/or “how are we supposed to be doing it”??
Are you trying to work out how best to take action, given there are many faces of oppression and ways to fight them?
Are you overwhelmed by all the ways to take action and not sure what to choose?
Are you trying to do everything all at once?
Have you started a campaign/group and moved to action together, and now you want to figure out what you’re actually doing?
Are you trying to work out what your group is really for?
If any of the above is true, this is the workshop for you!
This 2 day session is for people in organising groups of any kind, from migrant rights to housing, climate justice to anti-racism, Palestine solidarity to trans liberation.
We will explore how to do strategy when facing complex, entangled problems. We don’t have ‘the answer’ but we will spend the days practicing with different ways of approaching issues, and different ways of thinking about and doing strategy, so you can support your group to weather these storms and take effective action.
Logistics
The sessions will run 10.30 to 4.30pm both days 7th and 8th February 2026. Please sign up if you can attend both days.
Snacks will be provided, and we’re working out our lunch options.
Costs
This workshop is offered on a sliding scale of £0-£100. Any donations on top of this will fund our work with grassroots groups.
