Uniting our Communities Against Racism

Join Bristol Community Action for an afternoon of community, connection and conversation for people who are targets of racism or religious hate.

At a time when many people across our communities are experiencing increased hostility, attacks or isolation, we want to create a welcoming space to come together, support one another and build unity, solidarity and skills.

The afternoon will include:

Conversation and connection: an informal space to have a cup of tea, meet others, share or simply sit and listen.

Self-protection: Tae Kwon Do Instructor Charan Singh will deliver a seminar exploring awareness, confidence, personal safety and simple self-defence techniques. The seminar will focus on helping everyone feel safer, more confident and empowered.

Know your rights and bystander training: a workshop by Bristol Copwatch on understanding your rights, community safety and bystander skills.

What comes next: a community discussion about what we need, what would help us feel more connected, and what we can do together.

Come as you are and take part in as much or as little as you like. Above all, this is a space to be, connect, and unite.

Feel free to enjoy the whole afternoon or just drop in. Join a workshop, have a conversation, listen to others or simply spend some time in community.

This gathering is particularly for global majority people, people of colour and people experiencing racism or religious hate in Bristol.
