An event on Saturday 7th November. The event starts at 10:30.
Join Resist + Renew for a two day radical imagination workshop in Bristol.
With wildfires, flooding and the rise of the far right, what’s imagination got to do with anything?
Why should we build our imaginations when the world is on fire?
We think imagining and preparing for possible futures can help us to reflect on what we’re doing now, and how we might plant seeds, prepare and organise for what might come.
	“All organising is science fiction” (Walidah Imarisha)
We’ll use games, creative writing, play, improv, visioning, and conversation.
10.30 - 4.30pm on Sat 7th + Sun 8th Nov
Please sign up if you can attend both days
In day one we’ll explore:
* Why radical imaginations matter
* What stops us being able to imagine alternative futures
* Ways we can strengthen our imagination muscles
In day two we’ll visit different possible futures to try out:
* What it could look like if we won
* Preparing for shocks or disasters in our communities
* Bringing lessons from the future into our daily lives and organising
Inspired by thinking and imagining from Octavia Butler, adrienne maree brown, the oral histories in Everything for Everyone: An Oral History of the New York Commune, 2052–2072, and Ursula Le Guin -
“The exercise of imagination is dangerous to those who profit from the way things are because it has the power to show that the way things are is not permanent, not universal, not necessary."
