An event on Wednesday 14th October. The event starts at 19:00.
Join Home: Exhibiting Existence for an evening of making, sharing and exploring the things that connect us to home. Through textiles, we’ll explore identity, heritage and our understanding of history, while creating space for stories, conversation and connection.
You don’t need to consider yourself an artist or have any previous creative experience. Together, we’ll experiment with fabric, photographs, personal objects and found materials, transforming memories and inherited stories into something new through collage, stitching, painting and textile making.
We encourage you to bring a piece of memorabilia from home that holds personal or cultural meaning, whether it’s clothing, fabric, a photograph, keepsake, letter or another object connected to a person, place, memory or tradition.
Alongside the creative activities, there’ll be refreshments and opportunities for relaxed conversation around heritage, identity, memory and the stories we carry with us.
Come as you are, bring a memory, and make something new.
No experience needed. All creative abilities welcome.
