The Classic Women's Blues at St Stephen's City Church, Bristol, 21 St Stehpen's Street, Bristol, BS1 TEQ
Free Entry - Donations Appreciated

A event on Monday 2nd October. The event starts at 13:00.

Within popular culture, either a solitary man playing an acoustic guitar, or a male band playing the electric ‘Chicago Blues’ epitomizes ‘The Blues’, but this is only part of the story. The other part of the story relates to the ‘Classic Blues’, which came to prominence in the 1920s. The first Blues recording stars were women. Dave and Natalie will tell the story. Mainly though they will be playing songs together from the repertoire of the Classic Women’s Blues. From Bessie Smith to Billie Holiday and beyond.
