Headfirst Editor's Pick

"A quintuple bill of oddball ambient and experimental sounds, perfectly nestled within the haunting acoustics of Redcliffe's St Thomas the Martyr church. Featuring Alliyah Enyo’s stunning vocal-led sci-fi explorations, Dan Thorman’s spooling modular meditations + Jake Muir’s soft-focussed electro-concrète – pure atmosphere."

"I thought this was supposed to be an ambient night?" - disgruntled punter, 2025

introducing....

Jake Muir - is a master at crafting new sounds out of old, effortlessly jumping between conceptual works that explore diverse topics from identity & personal growth, to one's love of the Beach Boys. Jake turns familiar earworms into shimmering sensorial mulch, asking the listener to completely reimagine worlds they may have previously thought they knew

Alliyah Enyo - performs hauntingly beautiful vocal-led experimental compositions that appear all at once devotional & celestial. Harnessing song, somatics and sculpture to invesitgate myths, folklore & sci-fi tales which concern queer ecological perspectives and histories in the process

Fergus Clark - back in 2013 the world of 'digging' was dominated by perfectly-coifed, jetsetting, linen-shirt wearing bro's (who mysteriously had record bags filled with vinyl worth more than most people's monthly rent). When out of nowhere, a Scottish teenager (not even old enough to buy a beer) appeared on the scene dropping genre-bending mixes of psychedelic-curios - Responsible for the incredible 12th Isle label, the Forecast (which is STILL one of the best mix series going) and even co-compiling a 4th-world compilation with the legendary JD Twitch. 'DJ's DJ' is a term that instantly makes us want to spit out our bagel but Fergus is a truly class act who always performs at the top of his game

Dan Thorman - all round nice bloke and aficianado of all things 'ambient' makes a rare live outing to open proceedings. With previous performances at Freerotation and a support slot for Laraaji under his belt, his live show is not to be missed

+SPECIAL GUEST: Llyn y Cwn - those in attendance in the basement last year will know all too well the seismic power of Llyn y Cwn's 'Megaliths' album and his lysergic tellurian visuals. Megaliths has been newly remixed in DUB versions - and will be performed here for the very first time
