For all it’s beauty, the countryside can be a queer and sinister place. Folk legends, myths and characters form the backbone of life in the village. To celebrate the BFI’s Britain on Film season, Compass Presents will be unveiling some of the mysteries of ancient rural countrysides in inner city Bristol.
Join us on a promenade experience that will lead you around the wild places of Boiling Wells to discover hidden histories and forgotten stories told through the medium of archival film. Look out for signs of Pagan ritual and beware suspicious characters...
Please note: This event is just for the Archive Film trail. For the expanded cinema screening of The Wicker Man please see our other listings.
How to find it: Boiling Wells is located near the St Werburghs City Farm on Watercress Road, Bristol BS2 9YJ. After you emerge through the first tunnel and approach the farm, continue straight ahead along Mina Rd. Your experience will begin as you enter the second, spooky tunnel…
This is a free event.
