The Wanted 18 - Film and discussion at St Werburghs Community Centre
See event details

A event held at St Werburghs Community Centre on Saturday 30th May. The event starts at 18:30.

Join the Bristol Apartheid-Free Zone on 30th May at St Werburghs Community Centre for our very first film and discussion evening!

Bristol Apartheid-Free Zone has teamed up with Bristol Palestine Film Festival, and over the coming months we’ll be delivering a series of film screenings in community venues across Bristol. To start the series off we will be showing The Wanted 18 (52 mins, dir. Amer Shomali and Paul Cowan) an animated documentary blending real interviews, archive footage and stop-motion animation, about the efforts of Palestinians in Beit Sahour to start a small local dairy industry during the First Intifada.

After the film we will have a collective discussion inspired by the film’s themes of boycotting and community organising. There will be a bake sale to raise money for students from Gaza, who are currently studying at the University of Bristol, and for their families back home.

Bring your friends, family and neighbours!
