A
gig
held at Strange Brew
on Friday 10th December. The event starts at 19:00.
A full festive treat from Bristol's Specialist Synth shop - we've rounded up a handful of our favourite local electronic acts for a mixed stocking of musical treats!
100% live acts with a focus on bringing new artists to the stage, the Elevator Sound Showcases are designed to flaunt the weird and wonderful of Bristols electronic underbelly. Our voltage-wranglers for this month:
Finlay Shakespeare - (Editions Mego, GOTO)
A one-man synth pop powerhouse, it's rumoured Finlay created a small time machine in his workshop and travelled back to 1982 where he sow the seeds for synth-pop - only to zoom back to 2021 and reap the rewards! Expect high-octane power-pop, ripping synth lines, glitched out Gore-esque vocals and so many SONGS. Actual bloody songs played live, on a modular system. Do yourself a favour and get to know - this is NOT a performance to be missed.
Bearer (ANA Sounds)
A mysterious figure amongst the trees of Bristol musical wonderland - often found head-down in the strangest of shows, always listening.. Always learning. An uneasy cocktail of industrial environments, one-hand-on-the-echo dub performance and concrete plundering. One for mechanical reflections.
Ekstasis (Slack Alice)
Half demonic noise creature, half shoegaze mist-construct - Ekstasis occupies the spaces inbetween. Their Slack Alice show promised modular noise frenzy combined with soft dreamy guitar and vocals - but this could be a wildly different affair, better get down early to find out..
