Strange Brew presents Ron Trent at Strange Brew
Headfirst Editor's Pick

"Sell out warning! Ain’t nothing deeper than Ron Trent. Chicago royalty is in the building, dealing in the most soulful house music known to man, filling your heart with urban blues, lifting your mind to altered states. Jacking beats, stargazing pads, live-wire percussion, jazz-wise sensibilities; this has all the makings of a dizzying highpoint in Brew-story. You’d be a fool to sleep … "

Strange Brew presents Ron Trent ✨

Our guest on 13th June needs little introduction as we welcome house music master Ron Trent (!) for a very special appearance and his first Bristol show in 10 years.

A pioneering architect of deep house, as a teen Ron Trent released certified classic ‘Altered States’ and founded the Prescription label with Chez Damier in 1994, setting standards with its organic, electronic sound and emotional depth.

After moving to New York, Trent became a key figure in the local club scene with residencies at Body & Soul and Vinyl, developing a sound that combines house with jazz-funk, neo-soul and Afro beats.

Over the past 30 years he’s continuously released music, working with artists including Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Tony Allen and 4hero. This month Rush Hour will release his new two-part album ‘Lift Off’.

Opening the night will be Bristol selector @fkaboursin who has been making waves with his deep, dubbed out house productions and soulful selections.

Don’t sleep on tickets. This is not to be missed!
