Chaps and Straps - Queer Line Dancing at Strange Brew
Headfirst Editor's Pick

"Sell out warning! Line Dancing has been sweeping the queer nation of late and now it's Bristol’s turn. Dig out your cowboy hats and boots and get practising your grapevines, scuffs and charleston ready for this right hoedown – hosted by the excellently named Small Willy Nelson. Orville Peck would be proud."

A event held at Strange Brew on Friday 23rd January. The event starts at 19:30.

Chaps and Straps is an opportunity for LGBTQIA+ people to come together and dance! Small Willy Nelson, local drag king, will guide you through a series of line dances suitable for the most novice of dancers, to your favourite queer country anthems. Dress up if you feel like it – think cowboy hats, denim, leather – or just come as you are. Please wear what makes you feel comfortable. This event is created by and for LGBTQIA+ people. We especially want to welcome Trans, Intersex, and Non-Binary siblings— your presence is valued and celebrated here. Our dances are taught with options to suit different gender expressions and designed to help you to connect with your body with joy.
