Simple Things proudly welcome COLA to Strange Brew in May. Featuring members of the recently disbanded Ought, the new art-punk trio make their debut with songs of modern anxieties. The name Cola partly stands for “Cost of Living Adjustment,” an ironically dry source of inspiration for a rock band. Their debut record, Deep in View, is a feat of artful and energetic post-punk, laced with elegant guitar grooves and knotty rhythms.
