Holy Wave at Strange Brew

A gig held at Strange Brew on Monday 7th September. The event starts at 19:00.

Holy Wave

Back at the beginning of their seventeen-year career, Holy Wave leaned into a tranquil realm of psychedelia, favouring dreamy pop melodies over long-form jams and guitar heroics. As the band evolved, their early Sgt. Pepper’s-meets-The Velvet Underground sound gave way to more sophisticated melodies and tripped-out instrumentation, steering their music away from sun-bleached nostalgia and into a colour-saturated world where the sounds of the past, present and future intermingle.

Childhood friends Ryan Fuson, Joey Cook, Kyle Hager and Julian Ruiz grew up in El Paso, Texas, where they cut their teeth in the local DIY music scene. Hungry for new sounds and broader perspectives, the band regularly travelled across the American Southwest to catch touring acts that often bypassed West Texas. That sense of wanderlust eventually led them to relocate to Austin and continues to shape both their adventurous songwriting and relentless touring schedule.

Holy Wave will release their sixth studio album, i’m DADA, on 10 July 2026 via Suicide Squeeze Records.
