"Gonzo Dutch space-age Planet Earth fusion sounding like Os Mutantes and Arto Lindsay crashing Grace Jones’ Compass Point sessions. Wacked-out Latinx psych meets 80s drum machine digidub = excellent cosmic soup FFO: Soundway Recs, King Jammy, Sun Araw & the Congos, On U Sound, Yin Yin, Meridian Brothers."

A
gig
held at Strange Brew
on Saturday 10th June. The event starts at 19:00.
We are super happy to welcome back a firm favourite of us worms. Amsterdam's singular, weird and wonderful Mauskovic Dance Band.
The Mauskovic Dance Band combine elements of cumbia, Afro-Caribbean rhythms, & space disco in equal measure to create a unique hypnotic groove, with strong lashings of late 70's nu-wave stylings and frazzled electronics. The group is the brainchild of Nicola Mauskovic, Amsterdam based producer and multi-instrumentalist..
Their initial releases that came out on Soundway wowed us with their 'tropical' other-worldly lean, and their latest album 'Bukaroo Bank' which came out on the ever fantastic Bongo Joe, is a bit more late 70' New York new-wave and punk it's approach. It sounds like if the Selector had a love child with the Dead Kennedy's, singing funky-island grooves while trapped in a 80's television-tube wormhole.
They last played Bristol in 2019, so it's nearly 4 years since they came to Bristol. A perfect band for Stange Brew, and to help you let loose on a summer Saturday night!
