"Local legends Tara Clerkin Trio take Bristol’s trip-hop sound and bend it into a hazy dream-world filled with warped chamber-jazz incantations and delicate avant-pop. They’re joined by experimentalists Able Noise whose sound spans improv-jazz, folk and dream-pop. FFO: Claire Rousay, Space Afrika, Arthur Russell."

A
gig
held at Strange Brew
on Saturday 17th December. The event starts at 19:30.
Tara Clerkin Trio return to the Brew to round off their European Tour with a homecoming show just before Xmas. Now one of the most cherished Bristol bands whose 2019 self-titled album and 2021's 'In Spring' EP have been widely celebrated in the international music press and end-of-year lists, and of course amongst local fans
Simultaneously embracing and upending those classic 'Bristol sounds', their palette sits somewhere between chamber-jazz, trip hop and dream-pop, but puts an avant-garde spin on the cliches of those genres to create a style entirely of their own. By playing with tempos, narrative and smoky jazz-bar atmospherics, their live shows are always special and surely sound best on home soil

Able Noise is an experimental duo of electric baritone guitar and drums based between Athens and The Hague, the Netherlands. Through the use of voice, cassette players and alternative methods of playing their instruments, they create a unique minimalist and visual musical experience. Artful, subtle, meditative and and soothing at the same time, we are very excited to be hosting them at Strange Brew for their debut UK show.
