Based in Kingston, Jamaica, Equiknoxx have been operating musically for more than 10 years, working with the likes of: Aidonia, Beenie Man, Masicka, Spice to name a few! Back in 2016 they released their debut album, “Bird Sound Power“ parsed and pieced together by Jon K & Demdike Stare! The album created a meld of post-punk/ new steppers-style reggae / experimental dancehall and riddled with a load of miscut samples, chopped and reversed into dirgelike loops.
A new venture for Gavsborg & Time Cow, 2 core members of the collective, is their new alias "Gav & Jord" which has just seen their recent debut release on Elle Andrew’s and Jon K’s new imprint Mal Recordings. “It’s their most probing x tight set of productions thus far - showcasing that naturally wild rhythmic mutability that’s earned them followers in every corner of the experimental paradigm over the last few years.” - Boomkat
Performing alongside Gavsborg & Time Cow will be the incredible Shanique Marie.. An integral part of the group's musical and conceptual output, Shanique’s soulful vocals bend neo-soul / 90s rap & gospel forms on top of muted / minimal / sparse dancehall, jazz-like rhythms.
