Disco Isn't Dead w/ Greg Wilson + more at Strange Brew
Headfirst Editor's Pick

"They tried to kill disco but Greg Wilson won’t let them! From Wigan Pier to The Hacienda, Greg’s defined what it means to be a dance music journeyman. Championing electro-funk and UK street sounds when no-one else would, armed with ‘floor-slaying tape-spliced edits and a head full of hindsight, he comes to the Brew to make you MOVE."

A clubnight held at Strange Brew on Saturday 29th July. The event starts at 22:00.

One for the history books as the iconic Greg Wilson reaches Bristol's best venue for a glorious night of danceloor joy under the disco ball!

Greg will also be doing a FREE talk before the clubnight, discussing his new book 'Discotheque Archives' - a first hand run through of the top venues, labels, tunes and DJs of the pre-rave era.

GREG WILSON
When it comes to disco, DJs don't get much more seasoned than the mighty Greg Wilson. A true pioneer of dance music, Greg's been keeping the dancefloor full since the 70's, evolving from soul & funk soaked residencies as a teenager to adopting the synth-laden electro funk sound of the 80's through to his legendary status where he's comfortably sat, part archivist, part tastemaker, part label owner and journalist - but first and foremost a world class selector.

If that wasn't enough he's also the first person ever to DJ on the telly back in 1983! We're incredibly excited to see what Greg brings to the Brew - and make sure to get down early for a talk before the night where he'll be discussing his new book 'Discotheque Archives' with Felix Joy (and maybe a few special guests)..

ELUIZE (Disco Set)
We've bagged a real treat, as Aussie-via-Berlin DJ Eluize rolls through with a special disco set. Usually known for her dubby house, euphoric techno and acidic electro productions, she'll be digging into a bag of deep grooves and soulful dancefloor moments to flex that disco muscle!

BRAD BRADLEY
Nottingham's Club Fruit head honcho, original Paradisco resident and troubadour extraordinaire; Brad can fly you from the soft grooves of the Balearic islands to the jackin' drum machines and vocal anthems of NYCs Paradise Garage and whip you back to the UK in time for a cheeky bit of 303 squelch. Pure quality heads down fun to be had!

With a lineup like this you'd be mad to miss out, see you on the dancefloor! Ticket holders make sure to get down before midnight to avoid queues, it's going to be a busy one..
