WITCH at Strange Brew
Headfirst Editor's Pick

"Welcome to Zamrock, where WITCH (‘the Beatles of Zambia’) ruled their own 70s garage-fuzz kingdom. After 40 years of global obscurity, a Lazurus-like resurrection sent them back on the road, proving beyond doubt that WITCH are an unstoppable and pre-eminent slice of living psych-rock history. Ain’t nothing else like it FFO: 13th Floor Elevators x William Onyeabor, Dead Meadow x James Brown."

A gig held at Strange Brew on Sunday 22nd June. The event starts at 19:00.

Zambia’s biggest rock band in the 70s, WITCH (We Intend To Cause Havoc), were the pioneers behind the Zamrock genre, fusing contemporary rock influences with traditional African rhythms.

After an incredible revival in the 2010s, WITCH embarked on their first European tour in 2017. Now they’re bringing their unique sound to a whole new generation of music lovers at Bristol’s Strange Brew.

This is independent music at its finest, from the artist to the venue to the promoter, come along and support!
