Includes a second room with a mixture of different artist stalls ranging from prints, posters and zines to t-shirts and band merchandise all showcasing young and queer creatives in and around Bristol. (List of stalls below). To make the event as accessible as possible Strange Brew has gender neutral toilets and the second room will have seats and a chilled out area for whoever needs them.
TAAHLIAH is a DJ & Producer from Glasgow. After making her name in the underground queer club scenes of Berlin & Glasgow as a DJ and remixer, she took the stage as a producer in 2021 when she started releasing on the London label untitled (recs). Her debut-EP "Angelica" (out May 28th) brings together TAAHLIAH's expansive production skills and range of influences, moving effortlessly between squeaky-clean hyperpop textures (Brave, Freefalling) and the jacking hard- dance sounds (FMH, Bourgeoisie, Transdimensional) which defined her much-lauded Boiler Room debut earlier this year.
INTERVENTION: After noticing that other groups that aimed to bring women together who wanted to learn how to DJ were dominated primarily by egotistical white, cisgender, heterosexual women and by doing so replicated the power structures they aimed to dissolve, INTERVENTION serves as an alternative. This space is welcome to all, even those who align with the group stated above.
Benson Streaker is the moniker of Ethan Jones (HAAL) who is the Bristol Based producer who makes groovy minimal house for the dance floor reminiscent of the 90s aesthetic. With more releases to come from Benson on @canape_records (F:lix, SLOLEK, Longeez) you can now hear elements of hardcore, breakbeat, minimal and acid house.
