Comedy Night - Trans Pride South West at Strange Brew
See event details

A event held at Strange Brew on Tuesday 21st November. The event starts at 19:00.

IT’S BACK! After 3 sell-out shows, TPSW are bringing you the fourth year of the best trans and non-binary comedy Britain has to offer. We had Jordan Grey before she went on Friday Night Live, Jen Ives before she voiced for Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared, and Sam Williams before they appeared on the BBC.

This is a space to see amazing trans and non-binary comics who have started their career and are rapidly rising upwards in the UKs comedy circuit. Expect a night full of laughter and hilarity and spectacular queer joy.

PERFORMERS

ALASDAIR WALLACE (he/they)

Alasdair Wallace is "one of the most exciting new voices in the South West", "a genuine joy to watch", and "fond of misleading quotation marks". Blending sharp observations with compelling storytelling, Alasdair brings warmth, wit and very little wisdom. Shortlisted for the prestigious BBC New Comedy Award and LGBTQ New Act of the Year semifinalist.

JAMES O'DONOGHUE (he/they)

James O’Donoghue is the best depressed non-binary Marxist Jewish comedian currently operating anywhere in the greater Stoke Newington area.

“Fuckin’ awesome and looked great!” - Tony Law

James is a former Bristol comedy legend and beloved past darling of the local scene. He was almost the first headliner we ever booked way back in 2019, and we’re absolutely thrilled to finally have him.

& headliner:

LEILA NAVABI (she/they)

Leila already has a string of credits to their name and we are beyond delighted to have them headline this year! Trust us, this one’s not to be missed.

As seen on BBC New Comedy Awards 2022, Leila has written for Bad Education (BBC) and Never Mind The Buzzcocks (Sky), and can be heard in Channel 4’s Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared. 'The actual future of comedy' (LMAOnaiseComedy.com). They're back from a sold-out Edinburgh Fringe run and will soon be playing Soho Theatre with their show 'Composition'.
