THEE SINSEERS

Fronted by East Los Angeles bandleader Joey Quiñones, Thee Sinseers have been quietly chipping away at the sounds of R&B and soul since forming in 2019. Drawing on the rich musical traditions of East LA while looking beyond the boundaries of a single genre, the group create music that feels both timeless and distinctly their own, blending classic soul influences with a modern sensibility.

Their new Colemine Records album, Love Stories, explores the messy reality of love rather than neat romantic endings, moving through heartbreak, family, longing and everything in between. Earthier instrumentation, stand-up bass and warm, 60s-adjacent guitar tones give the record a rich, intimate feel, while its open-ended stories reflect the highs and lows of relationships. The result is soulful, deeply human music that honours where Thee Sinseers come from without ever feeling stuck in the past.

ERIC McENTEE

California singer-songwriter Eric McEntee is a modern-day troubadour, a soul of the open road who pens timeless songs like the (#23) Viral 50 charting "I'm Not Bothered By The Rain" which he wrote while busking and making a film in Paris. McEntee's music has a found quality, unbound to any specific epoch, that evokes a sense of wanderlust, carrying on in the American roots music tradition by blending diverse influences of folk, country, soul and jazz. True to the roots of his sound, he has recorded and collaborated with members of Bob Dylan, Mavis Staples, Spoon, and the Grammy-winning producers behind Daptone records.
