Pure Love Unity presents a classic summer daytime event at Tapestry on sunday 28th July. Headlined by the one and only Norris Brown (with supporting acts) alongside DJ Wiley, DJ Flamez, they will be joined by some of Tapestry's favourite affiliated artists - Verbz and Stylez and Spaced Apes! Expect a full day/evening of mixed genre music, with live graffiti, trader stalls, local food and drink and more! More info about the venue/Artists below:
TAPESTRY BY PROPS
Tapestry by Props is a working brewery/taproom/event space managed by PROPS - A charity working with Adults with learning disabilities to provide job opportunities and strengthen community foundations. Using this venue allows money to feed back into a grass-roots organisation dedicated to improving quality of life for their trainees, and provides opportunities to furhter establish a culture of creative collaboration through arts and music. Please show your support on the day, there will be a fully licenced bar and soft drink options, as well as merhcandise made by the trainees at Props HQ.
BASSI SOUNDSYSTEM
Established in Bristol in 1974, Bassi Sound is a staple in Sound System Culture in this city. Having a long standing presence in the community and a serious amount of hardware, you can be sure that the sound will deliver something truly special.
NORRIS BROWN
Norris Brown moved to Bristol in 2004 having previously lived in London and grown up in Jamaica. His disctinctive vocal style and delivery has been developed through a myriad of musical influences and collaborations. He is a highly versatile performer and well known for his showmanship and dedication to his craft.
SPACED APES
Hailing from Swansea/South Wales, Spaced Apes are firmly established as a presence in the local area and beyond. Having absolutely shut it down at their last appearance at Tapestry, the Apes will be making the pilgrimmage back across the severn bridge on the 28th July to do it all again!
VERBZ AND STYLEZ
Bringing the old school inspired hip-hop flavour, Verbz and Stylez are a powerhouse duo dedicated to exploring the symbiosis between DJ and MC. Expect a high energy delivery with intricate lyricism and slick cuts.
PURE LOVE UNITY
Sponsoring the event is Pure Love Unity - a lifestyle and community organisation led by Ras King Ahbba. There will be clothing and merchandise for sale on the day as well as incredible food brought to you by Pure Love Foods. If you were lucky enough to sample any of the cooking at SAM JAM or TDO x Zed In The Clouds nights at Tapestry recently then you will know what the fuss is about but if not, rest assured you will not be dissapointed!
