...and the self is lost

Our opening night was truly beautiful. A dance floor as lively as it was friendly.

What an exciting first step.

On Friday 25th September, we go again at The Arc for our WEEKLY alcohol-free clubnight, with:

- Open-genre DJing (expect to be surprised…)
- Affordable tickets (£3-£7)
- An alcohol-free bar selling a beautiful range of craft beers, functional (alcohol-replacement) drinks, and hot drinks
- Time before and after to hang out, chat and make friends

Timings:
Doors 7pm
Opening DJ: 7:30-0pm
Robbie Isn't Real 9-10:30pm
Cool Down/Community hang-out: 10:30pm
End of Night: 11pm

This night is inspired by the idea expressed in Buddhism as anattā ("non-self" or "no-self"): that we our sense of separateness from each other, and from the broader tapestry of Life is but an illusion perpetuated by our identification with our minds.

Peak experiences and heightened states of awareness seem to arise as our sense of being separate (of being a separate self) softens, fades, and perhaps even dissolves. Dance is one way we seek this softening, fading and dissolution.

But don't worry: this isn't an ecstatic dance, nor is it a religious ceremony. So don't expect a sermon.

Do expect to have some fun, though.
