A gig held at The Arts House on Saturday 24th October. The event starts at 20:00.

Fires will burn in Bristol as two of the world's most uncompromising female performers combine forces for a weekend of poetry, music and revelation. Fearless brings together US cabaret star and singer-songwriter Sabrina Chap alongside the inspirational Australian poetic priestess, Candy Royalle. Hosted by radical punk feminist poet Isadora Vibes, Saturday night will also feature performances from the Mythical Creature that is comedian/poet Angie Belcher and torch song blues diva Lady Nade plus a sprinkling of other special guests. Sunday provides a unique opportunity to work with each artist in an intimate workshop setting.

Candy Royalle is an award winning performance artist, poet, storyteller, activist, educator and vulnerability advocate who fuses cinematic storytelling, poetry and unique vocal rhythms with confronting, political and heart thumping content seeking to break open closed hearts. She tackles topics ranging from sexual obsession to social injustice, exploring the human condition and illuminating the darker areas of the human psyche for her audiences.

Sabrina Chap's got classical piano skills, the ballad heartbreak of Tom Waits, the onstage antics of Phyllis Diller and the voice of a whiskey angel. Her sets are a ragtime stompin' good time- fulla laughs, heartbreaks, and plain good songwriting! These are the words of the Royal Vauxhall Tavern in London's Bar Wotever, where she and Candy are both favourites. Sabrina is back with a new sound, look and set up for her imminent return to the UK. If you've seen her before and sung along - you will be back. If you've never seen her and heard her speak/tell her tales - you're in for a treat!

Doors open at 7.30pm on Saturday 24th October, tickets at £8.75 from Bristol Ticket Shop - http://www.bristolticketshop.co.uk/eventdetails.aspx?e=10572 or call 0117 929 9008.

Sunday will see a workshop of two halves.

Candy will work with participants in the morning, exploring both written and performance skills and the art of vulnerability.

After a break for lunch, Sabrina's lecture/workshop is based around her book Live Through This - a collection of original stories, essays, artwork, and photography, Nan Goldin, Eileen Myles, bell hooks, and other cutting-edge artists explore their use of art to survive mental health diffculties, painful experiences and the impulse towards self-destruction.

Sabrina's mission is to show that creative women are not destined to the fate of lost visionaries such as Woolf, Sexton, Arbus, and Plath. Live Through This is a fearless exploration of women's silent rage, the power that can come from internal struggle, and the possibility of transforming this burning force into fierce and enlightened work.

This event will start at 10.30am on Sunday 25th October and cost only £33. This is an amazing price and we expect this to sell out fast - the venue is small and intimate. Book your place now!
