The Full Moon & Attic Bar

Pub, club and courtyard space at the gateway to Stokes Croft.

The Full Moon & Attic Bar is a long-running fixture of Bristol’s nightlife scene, located at the city centre end of Stokes Croft. Originally established as an 18th-century travellers’ inn, the site has evolved into a multi-use venue comprising a pub, nightclub, and sprawling open-air courtyard, plus food vendors and an on-site hostel.

Its varied programme spans DJ-led club nights, live music and community events, with a focus on electronic, reggae, dub, hip hop and alternative sounds. Alongside national and international artist bookings the venue hosts resident DJs each week, plus sporting fixtures, markets and workshops.

Our recent recommendations for The Full Moon & Attic Bar

Sell out warning! Just like Glasto, but with blastbeats instead of hippies! The Blastonbree battle jacket utopia is spawning at the arse-end of Stokes Croft for 12 hours of unrelenting grindgore and brutal death metal cloaked in unreadable typefaces. It’s the only place in Blighty you’re gonna see Dutch slam monsters Korpse this year, so make this act of wanton sonic lobotomy truly count kids! BLASTONBREE 2026 at The Full Moon & Attic Bar.

Japan is the pulsing centre of the known space-rock universe! Standing on the shoulders of 70s kosmische giants, Minami Deutsch have mastered psychedelic transcendence through motorik beats, wailing fuzz guitar and wild improvisation. Huge for fans of: Can, Amon Düül II, Kikagaku Moyo, Dhidalah, Föllakzoid, Goat. Krautrock/Psych

Sell out warning! Border-burning avant-rock built from a landslide of ritualistic West African folk onto the flat planes of European industrial grot rock. Avalanche Kaito are a revolution: this is the band the future has demanded, and you must answer the call. FFO: Senyawa, black midi, early Gang Gang Dance, Nihiloxica, The Ex. Return of Griot-Punk-Noise Trio from Burkina Faso/Belgium

A delectable Down Stokes triple bill for all the red-eyed nostalgists! Mild Orange bottle late-afternoon light and turn it into weightless widescreen guitar pop, Magic Shoppe conjure reverb-drenched psych-gaze incantations for narcotic bliss, and Pocket Sun weave textured dream-pop worlds with slow-dissolving synths and delicate jazz flourishes. Down Stokes Day 1 - Mild Orange / Magic Shoppe / Pocket Sun live at Attic Bar

Poignant documentary short overlaying archival footage with Dylan Thomas’ uniquely lyrical reflections on Iran. Penned during the production of a botched 50s propaganda film for the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company, it’s a powerful reminder of the depth of British colonial exploitation in the Middle East. Director Nariman Massoumi will be on hand to answer questions, with all proceeds going to Bristol Stop The War. A screening and discussion of Nariman Massoumi's documentary about Dylan Thomas's journey through Iran.
