Horse Life Drawing - Christmas Edition

After a sold-out first session, here is the Christmas edition of Horse Life Drawing! Draw a handful of free-roaming festive horses in a relaxing indoor arena. The session is open to all artistic abilities, don't worry if you've never drawn a horse before!

Calling all artists in Bristol and surrounding areas! Join us for a festive life drawing session at The Avon Centre, hosted by Max Wolfe Illustration. We will have a handful of wonderful horses roaming freely in a 35x55m indoor arena for you to draw however you like. The session will be relaxed, friendly and open to all abilities. Artist Max Wolfe will be hosting and is happy to give some tips on anatomy if needed, but note that the session is unstructured for the comfort of the horses. Please bring your own art materials! Wrap up warm, bring along a hot drink and enjoy some complementary biscuits (and some freebies too)!

This session will run at 2-4pm on Monday 14 December 2026.

Important info

Please bring your own materials.

Although the arena is indoors, please wrap up warm and cozy for ultimate comfort and feel free to bring a hot drink!

Seating is grandstand style seating on the long side of the arena (with wheelchair access). Please don't bring large easels as there may not be space. A sketchbook, board or lap easel is ideal. As the horses walk, you are more than welcome to move around and find a better spot to draw from!

Please be sensible around the horses.

Accessibility and transport options

The Avon Centre is a fully accessible building with wheelchair accessible toilets and seating. For more info, please visit their website here: https://www.theavoncentre.org.uk/
