Orphic at The Be-bop Club
£9.00

A gig held at The Be-Bop Club on Friday 1st November. The event starts at 20:30.

Saxophonist Sophie Stockham has previously played at the club on alto with her band Sefrial, but tonight switches to tenor to present her new project Orphic. Three of the band are members of Dakhla Brass and have performed for the Proms at the Albert Hall and at Montreal Jazz Festival. Joining Sophie in the front-line is Pete Judge on flugelhorn, also well known for his work with Get The Blessing, with Chris Jones on bass [We Are Leif] and Matt Brown on drums. This chord-less quartet will be exploring some of their favourite compositions by Thelonious Monk, Don Cherry, Johnny Dyani, Joshua Redman, Dewey Redman and more.
