A
gig
held at The Be-Bop Club
on Friday 21st December. The event starts at 20:30.
Although slightly lost in the mists of time we’re fairly sure that the Be-Bop Club started in the autumn of 1988, so we have hit thirty years. It’s also a double anniversary in that our indefatigable door-man Robin Denford has now been collecting the money and making sarcastic remarks to the bands for twenty years. To mark this Robin has asked that we pay tribute to the later career of Miles Davis, in particular Bitches Brew, but possibly including tunes from other albums such as In A Silent Way, We Want Miles and Star People. To undertake this daunting task we have Andy Hague - trumpet, Greg Sterland - sax, Matt Hopkins - guitar, Jim Blomfield - keyboards, Riaan Vosloo - electric and double basses, and Scott Hammond - drums.
