Sam Crockatt is one of the UK’s leading saxophonists who has recorded for the Whirlwind label with his quartet featuring Kit Downes, Oli Hayhurst and James Maddren. His new project Brouhaha is made up of three musicians who have recently made the west country their home - Sam Crockatt on tenor saxophone, Riaan Vosloo on double bass and Dave Smith on drums. The music, which is a mixture of originals, arrangements of folk tunes and standards, is full of possibility. Whilst being at times raw and searching, melody is always at it's heart.
