A
gig
held at The Be-Bop Club
on Friday 29th September. The event starts at 20:30pm.
Mark Pringle is a former student and protégé of John Law, who thinks so highly of him that back in 2011 they recorded a piano duet album called This Is. Mark then gained a scholarship to Birmingham Conservatoire where he studied with John Turville and others, and was described by piano great John Taylor as “an exceptionally gifted pianist and composer, and a remarkable improviser.” Since then Mark has continued his studies in Europe, and is currently based in Berlin. This collaborative European quartet has been brought together especially for a tour of the UK this autumn. Consisting of musicians from the UK, Sweden and Portugal, the group’s original compositions take influence from the Berlin creative music scenes, Scandinavian folksong and swing. Tobias Andersson - guitar, Mark Pringle - piano, James Banner - bass and João Lopes Pereira - drums.
