A
gig
held at The Be-Bop Club
on Friday 3rd April. The event starts at 20:00.
Saxophonist Dave O'Higgins as occupied the upper echelons of the jazz establishment for so long it's slightly surprising that he has never played at the club before, an omission we are very happy to put right. His CV is ridiculously impressive, including work in the UK with Jason Rebello and Jim Mullen and albums with US players including Joey Calderazzo, Joe Locke, Adam Nussbaum, Dave Kikowski and many more. Back in 1992 he even played a week at the Albert Hall with Frank Sinatra. More recently he's been working with the Brubeck brothers in Brubecks Play Brubeck, and has released a couple of twin-tenor front-line CDs alongside New York sax star Eric Alexander. Don't miss this rare Bristol appearance from one of the UK's very best players. Backing Dave are Jim Blomfield - piano, Will Harris - bass and Andy Tween - drums. See http://www.daveohiggins.com
