First and foremost, you need to know first, that these are not just simple dance classes. 

It's a Worldwide project that is been created with the purpose of spreading all over the globe, this amazing rhythm and this gorgeous dance of
Cumbia Sonidera from Mexico and the
Colombian Cumbia. This dance needs to be known as a international dance. To be popular as Salsa, Cha cha cha, Rumba etc.

For those who do not know what is Cumbia... Cumbia is a Latin American musical genre born in Colombia somewhere around the 1800s.

It is the first Latin musical genre to appear on the American continent. So that other genres such as Salsa, Bachata, Mambo, Rumba etc. will also appear later. 

Since the 1950s, Cumbia has been taken over by the other Latin countries on the continent. 

Mexico was the first that found the Love for the Colombian Cumbia and afterwards they added a few extra sounds to it.

They named it "Cumbia Sonidera". 

Cumbia is considered to be the soul of Latin American music and the Queen of the rhythms.

The Cumbia we have here in Bristol and the one we will learn in the dance classes is the Cumbia Sonidera from
Mexico and more precisely from the North of Mexico. 

The dance styles that we gonna learn... are from the following cities: Leon Guanajuato, San Luis Potosi, Monterrey, Monclova, Sinaloa and Texas.

There's 5 Cumbia dance styles that it's been presented for you, here in Bristol - England and for the whole Europe as well. 

Cumbia Sonidera was invented in Ciudad de Mexico. The capital of Mexico. Also your dance teacher it will teach you the Cumbia Colombiana too, only that the style is having is a little different than the traditional one from Colombia. He created his own style.

It's a dance style more taken from Monterrey, from Mexico and adding some Colombian moves to it.

Now is the time for England and all Europe to see and feel the energy and the vibration of Colombian and Mexican music. The music that the world needs to hear and learn more about.

We all together, we can make this as an international dance.

This project is created in the summer of 2019 by Virgil Y Cumbias and it's called "Ritmo & Sabor", translated means "Rhythm and Flavor"

The project has stopped in 2020 because of the pandemic.  And got back again in 2021, in the fall.

At the moment, The Bear INN pub is the only place we have to come and learn how to dance Cumbia Sonidera.

The only place in the whole Europe. There's no other places in Europe where you can find this rhythm, this type of music and this type of dance classes.

The only dance teacher who does this in all of Europe is Virgil Y Cumbias.

We are most fortunate to be here in Bristol and that we can create the only Cumbia dance community in England.

Private classes are also held. We love Cumbia so much and it will be a shame not to come and learn to dance this phenomenal rhythm.

These dance classes are the preparation for all Cumbia events that will take place in Bristol or any other cities in England or around the world. 

It is very important to know how to dance to the music you like. 

Right now... all you have to do is, to come and experience this new style of dance of Cumbia Sonidera from the North of Mexico. Right from the heart of Cumbia.
