A
event
on Sunday 23rd February. The event starts at 16:00.
Leonie & t l k bring their practices together to share a unique experience of embodied rest and community connection. Following Imbolc, as the land begins to reawaken from the slumbers of Winter, we will gather to connect our individual & collective stories of St George’s Park. An opportunity to reflect on the ways this beloved green space holds and heals us, the event will move through states of rest, dreamtime and wakefulness: t l k will share an ambient set, weaving together field recordings of St George’s Park from the Imbolc season. This will be followed by Leonie facilitating a yoga nidra session (guided restful meditation).
What to bring:
- Plenty of things to make sure you are warm & cosy: yoga mat, sheepskins, pillows, blankets (multiple!), bolsters (or pillows can be a good alternative), eye pillows. Wooly socks, hats, jumpers. Don't hold back!
- A notebook, paper, pen and pencils, or whatever you like to draw with / on
- An item or story that connects you to the park, for our collective altar
- A cup & your favourite tea

Your facilitators:
t l k is an artist, vocalist, producer and facilitator. Their work evolves from grief, selfhood, human behaviour and its coalescence and tensions with the non-human. Centring the voice-as-instrument, their practice holds a deep commitment to the act of Noticing. The t l k sound blends choral polyphony, musique concrète, synthesis, automatic writing and ambient sensibilities, on Ableton, with improvisation at the core.
For this event, t l k shares a long-form audio piece of found sounds from St George’s Park, turning in aliveness through the season of Imbolc. This ambient set invites locals to rest and reflect on their relationship to the park, calling in synaesthetic visions of all that is alive here, and our place in it all.
Leonie (they/them) is a queer, non-binary yoga facilitator based in St George, Bristol. Their work is centred around creating welcoming & lighthearted spaces for embodied rest, ritual, radical self-love & collective care. They offer weekly yoga classes in St George, as well as workshops, 1-1 therapeutic yoga and transformative retreats.
For this event, Leonie will be facilitating a practice of yoga nidra or ‘yogic sleep’, celebrating this time of year as the rumbles of spring begin to rise up from the wintery earth. We will take time to settle, get as comfortable as possible and to drop into a deep state of relaxation. Leonie’s words will guide you through a meditative journey into a space between wakefulness and sleep - there is nothing to ‘do’ and no way to get it wrong.
