For our second band night of the year, we have the unbelievable Duval Project playing this week!
The Duval Project is a Nu Soul/Jazz and soul excursion formed by Gary Alesbrook. Influenced by his time playing with artists such as Raphael Saadiq and Lynden David Hall, Gary has formed a quintet with the young duo of electric bassist Richie Blake and drummer Danny Cox, with Andy Nowak on Keys and vocals from Marie Lister.
Gary plays trumpet, flugelhorn and keyboard. A retro approach but with fresh sounds, they add their own brand of style covering songs by artists such as De La Soul, Chaka Khan Michael McDonald and Dr Dre.
The band has supported Roy Ayers at the jazz cafe in Camden, while their 2-time grammy award winning E.P. was mixed by sound engineer, Russell Elevado. Theor new single will be released on the 1st November, and features the Canadian Juno nominated rapper, Ghettosocks.
