on Friday 13th January. The event starts at 20:00.
Spring is a distant dream, you get a new cold every two weeks, and you haven't been able to face a party since New Year's Eve. On some randomly selected date the media and/or your friends will inform you this is the most depressing day of the year. You need a proper party:
Room 1: Featuring a banging lineup of live music from 12-piece ensemble the Renegade Brass Band, extravagant and creative Parisian stage monster Fantazio, jumped-up ska-punkers The Sporadics, and local festival-hop funksters Ruckus Collective.
Room 2: Belongs to the mighty Avalaf Soundsystem bringing their inimitable mashup of Ragga-jungle, DNB, Gypsy, Hiphop, Breaks & Fun featuring special guest DJ Stivs plus full Avalaf Crew: Dub.Son / Reggae Destruction Unit / Phil McGappin / DJ Cretin / Avalaf Acid Death Squad.
Room 3: Features Blakazone Sound System bringing dancehall, dub reggae and bashment to room three from DJ's Blaka and Shredah.
9pm - 4am
Whats it all for?
Bristol has a thriving network of autonomous spaces. These are run by and for the people that use them, on a voluntary basis and without leaders, bosses, state or commercial funding. They offer a wide range of stuff from debt advice, copying, screenprinting, and bike fixing to meeting and eating places, and all for free. These spaces are increasingly under threat. This benefit is to kick start the counter-attack.
