Juke Joint Blues Dance: 1
Arrive 12:15pm for a 12:30 start, end 4pm. There will be lots of breaks and plenty of time for practise - it is a Sunday after all!

Who's it for:
Suitable for beginners and improvers. I will cover the basics so this workshop is suitable for beginners who like a challenge as well as those who have some understanding of Blues Dancing.

By the session you will be able to:
*learn the modern slow drag in : up, down and pendulum pulse
*incorporate fishtails, c-hips and four corners into your dancing
*have fun with the mess around, shimmies, hallelujahs and lowdowns
* know how to play with your partner using stillness and timing

What is Blues Dancing
It's a chilled partner dance done to blues music and music related to the blues. It differs from other dances because the follow often has more control over how they respond and has its own aesthetic. The best way to understand it is to check out some videos by my favourite dancer. Type in 'Vicci and Adamo Blues' into youtube for some inspiration.

What is Juke Join Blues Dance
Blues Dance is an umbrella term for many styles of Dance to Blues music. Juke Joint comes from the social dancing in Bars where space was limited and dancers did not travel around the dance floor but grooved in one place.

Pay what you can!
Everyone has a different relationship with money. The suggested amount is £20 but if you feel more comfortable paying £15 or £10 for the 3.5 hours you are welcome.

Photos and Videos
There will be a recap opportunity at the end to video what we have learned. Photos will also be taken in the lesson. If you do not wish to be in any photos please let me know at the start of the session.
