Bristol's weekly blues dancing night just got even better, with live music from Robert Jackson!
BLUE MONDAYS
We're a community of dancers who meet once a week for a class on blues dancing followed by social dancing. Blues is a great way to get into partner dancing, with a gentle learning curve and degendered teaching we make sure there is space for everyone and guarantee that by the end of your first session you'll be grooving to some great tunes on the social floor.
7.30 CLASS FROM SIÂN KATHRYN
Siân has never met a dancefloor that didn't make her want to move. In blues, she loves diving into the fundamentals to understand how to make those connections extra dreamy, and reminding everyone that they can take up space and show a bit of attitude.
8.30 MUSIC FROM ROBERT JACKSON
Robert is one half of transatlantic duo A Different Thread. Poets and wanderers at heart, A Different Thread reflect on romance, reckoning, and the calls of the open road. Front man Robert Jackson weaves together elements of piedmont blues, 70s' folk revival, and country into an authentic Americana sound, with his wailing harmonica, finger-picking guitar, and stirring voice in this special set for blues dancers.
