TOLDO is a night of performance, art, music and dancing. The concept took shape when Richard Fox heard Daniela Dyson’s poetry on the radio; she spoke about the symbolism of the Toldo (mosquito nets) and a collaboration to make a dynamic netted performance space was born. TOLDO is their endeavour to create their own context for performance. They have invited artists they’re excited about to do their thing in the ephemeral environment of the Toldo. You are invited.

The Toldo masters the light, changing it at whim. Pink or white or blue, aglow. Like living inside a protective jellyfish. Ghostly translucency, whose effects are felt but ultimately seen through. Simultaneously garish and soft: a fluorescent flame. Inside the infrathin we partake in the performance at an intersection. You are a prize fish! Caught in its draping net then dressed for the market in a suffocating Molly Goddard smock. It clothes and shelters you.

Protected by your nylon womb you incubate. Strung up by its plastic umbilical cords, holding the welcoming walls wide. Safe from everything but the parasites who may only feast on you in your dreams, just don’t stretch too far. The poor man’s four poster, fit for a princess. Come inside. Intersect.
