The Bologna Bridge Band, known to friends as BBB, is a brass band born under one of Bologna’s most evocative bridges. The project draws inspiration from the rich musical tradition of New Orleans, evoking the unique atmosphere of street parades and celebrations, where the audience is as involved and engaged as the musicians themselves.

The Bologna Bridge Band was formed in Bologna, a city of passages, contaminations, and musical bridges. The name itself reflects the band’s identity: connecting different worlds, people, and musical genres through the overwhelming energy of brass instruments and percussion. Their style is rooted in the spontaneity of early jazz, enriched with strong influences of funk and hip-hop, and further contaminated by techno rhythms. The unstoppable energy of a four-on-the-floor bass drum, wrapped in the powerful low frequencies of the sousaphone, combined with choreographed movements and eccentric outfits, gives BBB a bold and unmistakable character.

The Bologna Bridge Band takes music beyond the boundaries of the stage: festivals, streets, squares, clubs, and events become spaces for sharing, dancing, and connection.
