Afon Sistema play Maracatu, Samba's earthier cousin from Northeastern Brazil, and from studying with the best musicians in Recife, their rhythms are authentic, with their own special Bristol flavour. Traditional songs with haunting harmonies and whirling dancers with dazzlingly colourful skirts complete the picture, making this a feast for all the senses. Professional and tightly choreographed, with musicians drawn from long established Brazilian percussion groups in the South West and beyond, winners of Bath Carnival in 2016 & 2018 and recently at St Pauls Carnival, Maracatu event in Bordeaux, France in 2019. *£5 after 9:30pm
