The Bare Souls at The Canteen at The Canteen

A gig held at The Canteen on Friday 24th January. The event starts at 22:30.

The Bare Souls are breathing fresh life into classic genres. They draw influence from the likes of Etta James, Led Zeppelin, Black Keys and Tedeschi Trucks Band. Florence Pardoe leads the band with a powerful voice reminiscent of the 70's soul greats and throws herself into every song with tangible passion and formidable stage presence. She sings of passion, fear and joy with often painfully relatable lyrics, and means every word. Behind her a line up of some of the best musicians Bristol has to offer layer beautiful melodies, solid rhythms and gut-wrenching solos, moving expertly from understated to explosive.
A live show not be missed.

Since forming in 2016 The Bare Souls have rocked many of the southwest's best live music venues, as well as a number of festivals including Shindig, Wilderness and Boomtown. The band now sees the coming together of musicians from Backbeat Soundsystem, Cut Capers, Mango Factory, Horning Glory, Soul Strutters and more.

Storming into 2019 with a revamped line up and the two new singles It's Not Me, It's You and Lost My Mind, it's clear The Bare Souls are only just getting started.

"Imagine if Etta James started a band with Led Zeppelin and brought some funk playing friends with her, and you'll get The Bare Souls. Some of Bristol's finest musicians bringing an old sound right up to date, in a way that'll have you up and yelling for more. True class.”
Kanan Keeney - Grammy-Nominated Song Writer
