Matuki is a UK Afrobeat behemoth with a hypnotic, forward-thinking and relentlessly high-energy take on West African traditions. Led by Gambian singer and percussionist, Ebou Sanyang, the band have recently added world-class kora player Suntou Susso to their line-up of sizzling horns, tuff bass-lines and interlocking guitars. With nods to funk and disco along the way, and a penchant for pulsating rhythmic wig-outs, their explosion of a live show has gained them an enviable reputation, leaving you gasping for more.

Highlights for the band so far include performances on Glastonbury's Glade Stage, headline shows on the Chai Wallah stage at Shambala, Green Man and Secret Garden Party, and support slots for Quantic, Craig Charles' Funk 'n' Soul show, the Souljazz Orchestra and Dele Sosimi. Independent Manchester-based label Stutter and Twitch released single 'Injo' on 7" vinyl in Autumn 2016.

Matuki are currently working on their second album, set for release in late 2019, with support from PRS for Music Foundation.
