Los Gusanos are best described as a Latin band with a punk attitude. Their live shows are energetic and virtuosic and have been likened to watching a Hendrix jam at a Latin dive-bar. Drawing influence from the likes of Buena Vista Social Club; J Dilla; Marc Ribot; Santana; and, Khruangbin, Los Gusanos infuse genres including cumbia, salsa and champeta with blues and soul to create world-inspired psychedelic soul music.

Los Gusanos released their debut single in 2019 with Tapedown Records – an independent Bristol label - and released their long-awaited EP in Autumn 2022 with Ninjatune Production Music. The band's appearances have included Glastonbury, Tropical Pressure, Cheltenham Jazz Festival and London Jazz festival.

“Los Gusanos give me the speakeasy vibe; they play seductive music that invites you to shed your inhibitions unintentionally” - Afrika Baby Bam

“Los Gusanos are the missing link between Santana, Buena Vista Social Club and Khruangbin. Guitarist Mark Brodie delivers effortlessly melodic hooks with an exquisite feel, performed over a world-class rhythm section” - Michael Astley Brown – Editor-in-chief, Guitar World
