The Foo Birds are an independent five-piece band whose unique musical partnership has been evolving for over a decade. Their sound blends the warmth and groove of nu-soul / R&B with the improvisational elements of jazz and catchy hooks of modern pop. It is characterised by the powerful voice of Kate Lister, with lyrics exploring the joys and vulnerabilities of being human in an ever-changing world.

Their latest release, Everybody’s Shouting, was produced by Chris Hyson (Jordan Rakei, Frida Touray) and mixed by Alex Killpartrick (Olivia Dean). The EP offers a timely reflection on the chaos of modern life, and the solace we find in connection and creativity. It’s uplifting and soulful - a thoughtful antidote to overwhelming times.

Previous shows include Pizza Express Jazz Club (London), Band on the Wall (Manchester), Peggy’s Skylight (Nottingham) and The Jazz Bar (Edinburgh). Festival appearances include headline slots at Kelburn Garden Party, Fife Jazz Festival & Tinderbox Fest and they have been celebrated on Jazz FM, Worldwide FM & BBC Radio.

Previous releases feature collaborations with Robin Mullarkey (Jacob Collier, Natalie Williams), Harry Fausing Smith (Tom Misch, MRCY), Jonny Murray (Mr Jukes) & Robin Wynn Evans (Sam Brown, Manic Street Preachers).
