Merging six vocalist-instrumentalists from diverse backgrounds, Bristol based Tryani Collective’s original compositions interweave multi-part vocal arrangements with explosive percussion, synthesisers and drums.
Tryani Collective uses original texts both as lyrics and as musical motifs - words are broken down and distorted, voices used as instruments - to explore the expressive potential of the human voice. This symbiotic exchange between percussion and vocals creates a sound simultaneously complex and wholly unified. Deceptively pared-down instrumentation explores a wide range of harmonic and rhythmic textures, from the haunting call of ‘Bitter Water’ to the dancing, crowd-rousing momentum of ‘Hierarchy’
Equally at home blasted over a festival crowd or stripped down for an intimate acoustic performance, Tryani Collective’s infectious energy transports both performers and audience into an ecstatic trance
