Calling Ruby Confue a singer barely scrapes the surface - she’s a rapper, poet, performance artist and songwriter, using a perfect blend of jazz, hip-hop and urban soul to build music that’s so cool even a slice of Shakespeare sits comfortably over Rare Groove rhythms and soaring trumpets. It’s a great trick and by no means the only one up her very capacious sleeve.
