Their acclaimed 2019 CD debut Peaceful Knight has firmly put contemporary jazz pianist Rebecca Nash’s all-star quintet Atlas on the country’s musical map. It’s a great selection of her original tunes and songs with a rich electro-acoustic sound echoing a love of prog as well as a thoroughly modern jazz vibe running through it all. You can hear the influence of the likes of Pat Metheny there, but there’s also an understanding of folk traditions that all comes together in establishing Rebecca’s distinctive and lyrical style.
