*THE BAND: Tenor saxophones - Alex Garnett & Josh Arcoleo; alto saxophone James Gardiner-Bateman; vibraphone Lewis Wright; double bass Pete Randall; drums James Maddren. *THE MUSIC: This very special line-up will play a variety of music ranging from original compositions by both James and Josh, all time great standard songs, and some incredibly swinging charts and arrangements written by Alex for this particular double-tenor, alto saxophone frontline. These arrangements and originals were toured recently with the incredible"Saxophone Summit" group which included the incredible New York tenorist, Joel Frahm, along with Britain's very own genius altoist, Nigel Hitchcock. *Alex Garnett has been one of the leading tenor sax men in Europe for over a decade - instantly recognised by his dark, husky, super-swinging sound. A versatile musician, he's enjoyed success as both a professional freelancer as a jazz artist, and an in-demand session, studio and commercial saxophonist, having racked up countless recording credits along the way. He's a first-call tenorist in many of Europe's leading big bands as well as one of the regular main headlining UK jazz musicians at Ronnie Scotts, London. Due to his warm and swinging playing style, he is regularly the tenor of choice for many top American musicians as a sideman when touring in Europe, and has toured in over 30 countries worldwide appearing at such prestigious venues as the Blue Note, Birdland, as well as the Perugia, North Sea, Vittoria, Montreux, and Oslo Jazz Festivals to name but a few. Alex is perhaps best known on the jazz scene for his superb work with Ray Gelato's Giants but can equally well be found in settings that range from Jools Holland to Van Morrison. The list of international stars Alex has worked with covers the fields of the best of blues and popular music, with Paul Weller, Johnny'Guitar' Watson, Chaka Khan, Buddy Guy and Albert King a fair sample. Recently, he recorded music for what will be his highly anticipated debut album at the famous Systems Two in New York City. On this date, he was joined by one of the world's most in-demand jazz drummers, Willie Jones III (Kurt Elling, Hank Jones), and pianist Anthoney Wonsey (Nicholas Payton) along with powerhouse Londonbased American Bassist, Michael Janisch.
